Hmmm....

What about, 'What learning style suits you best? One where you read about the new ideas, or one where you are confronted with a new problem which you have to solve?'

Consider also the idea of scientific progress not as steady linear increase, but as 'scientific revolutions'. Does development of different music genres, or art or movie genres develop slowly one from another, or is there a complete change. Consider new fashions - clothes, cars, etc. Any use?

Why not take one example of a piece of [recent] art and/or science that was a complete departure from accepted wisdom - Darwin's Origin of Species is probably a bit played out by now - try something more recent. Consider also pseudoscience - e.g. 'cold fusion' which could (if there were ever evidence of if working).
